Beyond the Front Porch: Spirit of Willow Says the Backyard Is Becoming Halloween's New Gathering Place
BUFFALO, NEW YORK, USA - October 25, 2026 - Halloween has long been a front porch holiday. Pumpkins on the steps, a bowl of candy by the door and a steady stream of trick-or-treaters. But Spirit of Willow, an outdoor living brand, says more households are discovering that the best part of the night often happens out back.
After the trick-or-treating winds down, families and neighbors are gathering around fire pits with warm drinks, swapping stories and letting the kids show off their costumes one more time. For adults hosting their own parties, the backyard offers room to spread out, glowing light from a fire and a setting that feels made for the season.
“Halloween is one of the few nights a year when the whole neighborhood is outside at the same time,” said a spokesperson for Spirit of Willow. “A fire pit, some comfortable chairs and a few lanterns can turn a backyard into the place everyone ends up. Those are the evenings kids remember when they grow up.”
The brand’s collection includes fire pits, outdoor furniture, pergolas and garden décor chosen to work together, so a space can move easily from a quiet weeknight to a full house. Spirit of Willow says the same setup that hosts a Halloween gathering will carry a family through Thanksgiving, the winter holidays and into spring.
Spirit of Willow ships across much of the United States, with most orders arriving within five to 10 business days.
